MethodHeader 1.0.2

MethodHeader consists of 1 multi-page form and 1 oversized method which together provide a useful utility for those who live over documenting their code, or who perhaps want to simply paste the skeletons of new objects, form methods and triggers from a simple, space efficient floating palette. MethodHeader doesn't use any Plug-Ins. Everything is done using 4D v6 standard commands.

MethodHeader allows you to modify and add the headers on a per computer basis as all the headers are stored in a resource file in the ACI Folder in your System Folder. MethodHeader includes a few useful tags for pasting into a method. These are listed in the table below.

Tag	Description
<user>	Current User Name (or Default Developer)
<time>	Current Time
<date>	Current Date
<windowtitle>	Frontmost Window Title
<objectname>	Name of object which the Frontmost window is showing the method of.

MethodHeader comes in the form of a 4D Structure File so that those people without 4D Insider and simply copy all the form elements and the method into their own application

About QuickCodePro

MethodHeader provides some useful functionality to 4D Developers, but it's made to look positively basic (well, it is basic) in comparison to QuickCodePro. If you're doing so much coding that you find MethodHeader useful, you should really be going and spending the couple of hundred dollars on a copy of QuickCodePro v4.x from Aparajita. QuickCodePro's Macro feature allows you to do everything which MethodHeader does and much more. It's worth paying the fee just for that, but when you add all the other features, it's practically a gift.
