Products
Most software developed by mitchenall.com is bespoke software, developed to the exacting specifications of the client. As a result, we have not had the time to develop some of the commercial applications which we had planned a few years ago. There are still some ideas for products in the pipeline though, including a cross-platform XML authoring tool for people developing content for multi-lingual documentation and web sites.
Instead, what spare time we do have we put to improving our library of code and our collection of freeware components and plug-ins. Just because these items are released as freeware, it in no way means that they are developed to a lesser standard than applications developed for clients. They are components which we use ourselves and which we feel might be useful to other developers and so are developed to the exact same standards.
The components include modules designed to make the development process easier, including the Rollover Component for creating dynamic rollover buttons in 4D, the Toolbar Component for creating toolbars of rollover buttons dynamically in your forms and dialogs and preg component which provides similar regular expression commands in 4D to Perl Compatible Regular Expression Commands in PHP using QFree 2.x from Escape Information Services
Currently, only 4D components and plug-ins have been made available, but later we will be releasing some of the PHP classes we have been developing, which include a simple interface for sending data between 4D and mySQL using PHP and SOAP as middleware.
